Attorneys from Page White and Farrer once again took part in the Standard Chartered Great City Race on 14 July 2016. Our team ran the annual 5km race on the streets of London to raise funds for Seeing is Believing, Standard Chartered Bank’s global investment project to tackle avoidable blindness.
A team of intellectual property experts at Page White and Farrer took to the streets of London to take part in the Standard Chartered Great City Race on 14 July 2016. The 5km race is a unique annual running event for corporate teams which aims to raise over $100,000 for Seeing is Believing, Standard Chartered Bank’s global investment programme to tackle avoidable blindness.
All funds raised from the race have been matched pound for pound by Standard Chartered Bank and will this year go to helping to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of people in Zambia, as part of a new three-year project. The project aims to improve the lives of over 100,000 people through cataract surgery, treatments, eye examinations, the distribution of glasses and the training of eye health workers.
The team from Page White and Farrer ran alongside 350 teams from other companies in the accounting, banking, media, insurance and legal sectors.
Although one of our runners was disappointed to come 3,359th out of 6,500 runners, they were comforted with the knowledge that this still beat a former secretary who one year had the honour of coming last.
