Jacob Willey

Jacob has worked in intellectual property since 2016, having joined the profession with a first class degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Surrey. This has provided him with core knowledge in power electronics, telecoms, software development, and computer networking.

 

As part of his degree he spent a year working in industry as a software engineer, which meant that he gained valuable experience with the process of software design and development. He primarily focussed on object-oriented programming, developing software that reduced noise in live video streams for medical applications, utilising languages such as C, C++ and Java.

Jacob has worked with a variety of clients, from individual inventors and SMEs to large multi-national corporations. He has extensive drafting and prosecution experience, in particular for standard essential patent applications. Jacob also has experience in Opposition and Appeal proceedings at the European Patent Office.
